Your Harrogate Wedding Reception
The Parish Hall at St Wilfrid Harrogate is a beautiful vintage space in the heart of Harrogate. The hall was built in 1934 and features a unique “lamella” structured wooden roof along with oak panelling and modern wood flooring with underheating. The hall is perfect for wedding receptions, with enough space for up to 120 people seated, or up to 200 guests at a standing reception.
The hall is situated at the rear of St Wilfrid’s church, a Grade I listed church dating back to 1904. The traditional stone cloisters and outdoor space are perfect backdrops for your wedding reception photos.
The lawned area in front of the hall is included with the hall hire, enabling you to add outdoor seating for summer weddings, or have an area for activities to keep little guests entertained. The hall and lawns are secluded and away from busy roads, giving you privacy for the exclusive hire of the hall. There is onsite parking for up to 15 cars and plenty of free parking on the roads nearby. St Wilfrid’s is just a 5 minute walk from local hotels and a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Inside the hall there are two domestic standard kitchens, ideal for prepping food and drinks. If cooking onsite, caterers often bring their own ovens to work with. Whether you want a three course sit-down banquet or a more informal afternoon tea, barbecue, hog roast, curry or buffet, there is plenty of space for your caterers. We can recommend excellent local caterers who are familiar with the hall.
The hall is fully licensed for the serving of alcohol until 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night, you can however extend this until midnight if required with the local council. While we require your bar to be provided by one of our recommended professional partners, there is no corkage fee on your toast and table drinks.
Recent receptions have been entertained by jazz bands, ceilidh bands, DJ’s and more – the hall stage has been used as a performance space since 1934 so it has seen it all!
Booking Your Wedding Reception at St Wilfrid Harrogate’s Parish Hall
The hire fee for the hall includes exclusive use of the building from 12 noon on Friday until 12 noon on Sunday, and includes use of our tables, chairs, kitchens and sound system. A venue manager will be present on the day to ensure that everything goes smoothly. If you are thinking of a church wedding ceremony, then you may be eligible to be married at St Wilfrid’s if you have a connection to the church and have not been married before.
