"The walking group was founded in January 2009 and is organised on very informal lines. If you would like to participate all you have to do is turn up in the church car park at 10 am on the last Saturday of each month. After we have assembled we share the cars and drive to the starting point within an hour's drive but usually much nearer than that. A typical walk will be 5 to 6 miles and the only costs involved will be a contribution to the driver if you need a lift - around £1 or £2. If you feel able to do so you can volunteer to lead one of the walks but this is not necessary. It does vary but there are usually around 10 of us on each walk.

The picture was taken in autumn 2015 at Parcevall Hall where we had a 2 day break during which there were walks in the Yorkshire Dales along the banks of the Wharfe.  During 2014 our break was on the edge of the Lake District and in 2013 at Ravenscar near Robin Hood’s Bay. Other breaks in the past have been at Wydale Hall and in the Scottish Borders.   A trip is currently being planned for 2016.
Walking is often recommended as an excellent aid to health and fitness so why not consider joining us on one of our Saturday walks? Notice is given of upcoming venues on the pewsheets for the two previous Sundays.
