A MESSAGE FROM FR GARETH
My dear Friends at St. Wilfrid's,
This note is my way of saying farewell to you all. With my goodbye come also my deepest and most grateful thanks for putting up with me over the past years. All of you will have a special place in my memories and in my prayers, for however many years I have left. Thank you for the gift of your trust and confidences, thank you for the gift of your laughter and, sometimes, your tears. Thank you for allowing me to serve you both pastorally and in serving the Liturgy for you in the Mass. It has all been part of the focus of my priestly life in retirement.
You should also know that I have entered into a new relationship and that I shall be moving to Yeovil, Somerset, as soon as possible. The new lady in my life is called Hannah. All of my closest friends who know are prayerfully supportive of us. I hope that you, who know know via this note, will support us too, in your hearts and prayers.
Saying goodbye is never easy, it's a true bereavement. You may think I've taken the easy (cowards) way out by writing this, but I want you to know that my RAF life contained more farewells that I would ever wish to repeat. Goodbyes became ever more difficult to deal with so, please understand and forgive. Please pray for me and Hannah, as we shall pray for you..................... Your friend and priest................Gareth

Please come along in your finest Disco Outfit, bring a plate of food for the ‘bring and share’ buffet and join us as we celebrate a new phase in Fr Gordon’s ministry.

FOOD BANK
Many thanks to those who contributed to last month's collection of treats for the Food Bank.  Three large bags of chocolate, sweets and biscuits were delivered, and the volunteers there were very grateful.  As well as food, the Food Bank offers advice, fellowship and prayer to those in need.  We hope to do another collection in December as an Advent offering.

CHILDREN'S SOCIETY HOUSE COLLECTION BOXES
The Fundraising Director of the Society has written to say that the money raised by all those who contributed was “an incredible final total of £584.41”.  Because of people raising money in this way, the Society has been able to extend its work to teenagers who are at risk of sexual exploitation and other forms of abuse.  A child's teenage years are often when they are most vulnerable and many turn to the Society when they have nowhere else to go.
So, a huge thankyou to all who handed their boxes in, especially this year when there are so many other fundraising projects for the Church.
If there is anyone who would like to have their own box, please let me know
